Zito Trust

The Zito Trust was co-founded by Jayne Zito in 1992, the widow of Jonathan Zito, a young man who was stabbed to death in the London Underground by a schizophrenic called Christopher Clunis. Jayne Zito, his widow, started the charity to shed light on the failings of the mental health support that led to Clunis being allowed to roam without medication even though he had already shown a history of violence, though he had not been taking his medication. The humble beginnings of the Zito Trust started this way not to create a blame economy against people but to raise support for mental health issues to ensure that this never happens again.
