Advice and support for older people

We provide free advice for older people and their families and carers, in partnership with FirstStop. We can give you advice on:
- Care and support - in your own home, in specialist housing or in a care home.
- Housing - services to help you maintain your independence at home, and information about moving to somewhere more suitable.
- Finance - paying for care including benefits and allowances, Council and NHS funding, insurance, financial planning and financial products.
- Your rights - the law, the standards you should expect, how to get what you are entitled to, advocacy services that can support you.
We also carry out free home visits for older people who live in Essex, Hertfordshire and Waltham Forest. If you would like to find out more, please contact your local Home Solutions office.
Our Information Centre gives free information, advice and guidance to disabled people of all ages and to their families and carers.

Home Solutions offers advice and support to people who want to repair, improve or adapt their homes.
We can also advise on making your home more safe, secure and energy efficient, and we can help you to claim any benefits you may be entitled to.
We provide specialist advice and support for disabled and older people. Some of our services are available to everyone, including our handyperson, gardening, decorating, case management and architectural/technical services.
