Essex Dementia Care

Providing one-to-one care, companionship and support for the person with dementia, to promote good health and an active life.

It might seem obvious that staying active and engaged with the good experiences of life is one of the most important keys to maintaining positive health and well-being, but with dementia staying active and continuing to enjoy life can be more difficult.

We provide a range of specialist services aimed at promoting activity both mentally and physically for the special needs of the person with dementia. We also provide tailored support for carers including, respite, information, training and the opportunity to meet with other cares sharing similar experiences. Being a carer can be very hard and we aim to help.

Help for carers

We know that caring for someone with dementia can be very demanding and stressful and we aim to do all we can to help.
We try to focus on the positives by helping to provide respite whilst also ensuring the person cared for is supported and enjoying activities that will stimulate and uplift.

Oasis Activity Centres at Braintree and Rayleigh

Essex Dementia Care currently have two activity centres . One in Braintree open on a Monday and one in Rayleigh on a Wednesday. At both we are aiming to provide an active and stimulating environment which can accommodate the very special needs of the person with dementia.

We support carers too, with opportunities to meet and share with other carers, to join in the fun and share the load for a while, or simply to take some time out to recharge batteries.

Our day runs from 11.00 till 3.30, with refreshments and a home-cooked lunch. Drama and story-making, art, music and dance, reminiscence and games are just some of the activities on offer.

£35 per day. Carers are welcome free of charge.

One to One Support

One of our specialist dementia care practitioners works directly with the person with dementia to enable them to enjoy a range of activities of personal choice. This could be something they are no longer able to do without help or could be something completely new that they have always wanted to try.
