Essex County Council Reablement

Reablement

If you have lost some of your daily living skills due to prolonged illness or injury, we will work with you to regain these tasks and your maximum degree of independence.

This will include practical ways to help you regain mobility, confidence and life skills, such as preparing a meal.

In traditional home care, someone would visit and do these tasks for you. With reablement, we will work with you so you learn (or re-learn) important tasks you need for everyday life.

Many people who participate in a reablement programme find that afterwards they can cope very well on their own, without the need for social care support.

The reablement service is free and lasts for up to six weeks. For more information please contact Social Care Direct on 0845 603 7630.
