U3A The University of the third age The Rodings

The Rodings and Surrounding Area U3A covers a large rural community. Within its boundaries are several villages which share the medieval name "Roothing or Roding", hence our title. We have over 200 members, and around 20 Interest Groups up and running, with several more waiting in the wings. When Interest Groups are full, we are eager to form second or third groups. They cover a wide range of topics.

The Rodings U3A Activity and Learning groups are set up to reflect the demand and interest of our community. Some groups take place monthly, whilst others for a limited period. We encourage members to come forward with ideas and suggestions. Some groups fly off the shelf whilst others take time to grow and develop. If you are thinking about becoming a member of the Rodings U3A please make sure you let us, the committee, know of your interests.

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at THE ROOM IN THE RODINGS, DUNMOW ROAD, BEAUCHAMP RODING, ESSEX CM5 0PF, which is situated on the B184 two miles north of Fyfield. The doors open at 2 p.m. and there is usually a visiting speaker at approximately 2.30 p.m.
