National Zakat Foundation (NZF)

In the Arabic language, Zakat means growth, blessings, purification and development. Zakat requires Muslims to pay 2.5% of the qualifying wealth on an annual basis. Zakat provides an opportunity for the payer to fulfil their duty to God by making a payment. It also provides an opportunity to help the poor. But it is more than this.

The National Zakat Foundation (NZF) collects the contributions from Zakat and awards funds to individuals and community projects in the Musiim Community.

Applications can be made for individals in need online, providing that they are Muslim and are unable to finance basic needs (food, accomodation).

NZF can help with four main areas of support:

Essential Needs
Economic Empowerment Activities
Legal Fees
Debt Relief
