Uttlesford Community Travel is here to help you get out and about and make the most of this lovely part of Essex.
We provide services to the residents of Uttlesford who find it difficult to access normal public transport, the over 60's, the disabled and those who are rurally isolated.
We can take you shopping, to the hairdressers, to visit friends, garden centres, just about anywhere, as well as all types of medical appointments.
Book-a-Ride
This is our door to door service where we use our easily recognised minibuses which are specially designed for us and driven by our fully trained drivers.
All minibuses are wheelchair accessible.
To use the service you need to become a member, costing £10. Individual bookings cost £3 for the first 2 miles, plus 80p for each additional mile. Group bookings are individually calculated. Please contact for more details.
Hospital Cars
We provide this service for those who have difficulty getting to hospital appointments, by matching requests for transport with a volunteer driver who lives near you.
You do have to be a member of Uttlesford Community Travel to use this service. The drivers volunteer their time so you only have to pay the driver's vehicle costs (at the rate of 45p per mile)
Shoppers
There are two regular shopping routes to Bishops Stortford that we run. We call one the Canfield Shopper, the other the Farnham Shopper.
Both the Farnham Shopper and the Canfield Shopper only run on Thursday.
