So what does Get Connected do?

Our vision is that every young person in the UK can find the help they need to support their emotional and physical well being.

There are nineteen million children and young people under the age of 25 in the UK. In the Get Connected survey of 2006, four out of five young people didn't know where to turn with their problems.

Get Connected is the free helpline for these young people, who know they need help but don't know where to find it. They can talk to us by phone, email and webchat any day of the year. Our Helpline Volunteers are fully trained to support each young person in their unique situation, and help them choose the best service from over 13,000 in the UK. Get Connected is the vital gateway between a distressing, confusing problem the young person can't solve on their own and the service that can help them solve it. Crucially, the connection we make for each young person to their chosen source of help is free as well.

If you're worried about a young person, you can contact us on their behalf, or pass on our contact details so they can get in touch.

Charges: NHS services are free, some charities ask for a donation or have a sliding scale of fees and private counselling/therapy typically costs between £25-50.
Waiting times for talking therapies vary from a week for some private services to a number of months for some NHS services.
