Stansted Day Centre

Lunch Club

Lunch Club Opening Times:

Tuesday 9am - 4pm
Thursday 9am - 2pm
Friday 9am - 4pm

We rely on a team of volunteers to help with the running of The Centre. We have volunteers in the kitchen who help to serve the lunches and some who drive for us and collect some of our less mobile members.

We have two excellent cooks, who can cater for special dietary requirements and who constantly reinvent our menu to keep it from becoming repetitive. They use almost no tinned or frozen goods and many of our ingredients are sourced from local suppliers.

Other Services

We offer internet / computer access for anybody wanting to come in for a cup of coffee and a surf online, as well as IT tuition and on site help for anybody who is new to computers.

On Mondays we have an art group who meet for two hours. The group is run by an experienced artist, Sue Bush who is happy to offer guidance to anyone who needs it.

We also have a Scrabble group, cardmaking group and much more!

On Tuesday afternoons we hold Bingo and a raffle at The Day Centre.

On Friday afternoons we have card games, sometimes a film, a glass of sherry or just whatever we fancy doing!

We hold a regular Day Centre lottery, each results in three cash prizes amounting to 75% of ticket sales.

We also have regular fish & chip days. Fresh cod is cooked on site. These are usually held on Mondays or Wednesdays. A raffle or similar fund raiser is run along side these lunches.
