National Centre for Domestic Violence

NCDV was established to help survivors of domestic violence obtain protection against an abuser, as well as offering services to the police, probation service, domestic abuse agency workers, legal profession and judiciary.

We specialise in providing free, fast and effective legal support to survivors of domestic violence, usually by helping individuals obtain injunctions from their local county court. This free service is provided to everybody, regardless of their financial circumstances, sexual orientation, race, gender, age, or political or religious belief or otherwise.

Our services include:

  • Free service to everybody
  • Injunctions usually within 24 hours
  • Large framework of Legal Aid family solicitors throughout the country
  • Emergency Prohibitive Steps Orders
  • Emergency Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders
  • In-house process serving and tracking
  • Direct links with Local Authorities, health centres, refuges, Women's Aid Centres and other services

How we can help you

The NCDV team hope to be your partner in the domestic violence field. We believe our specialised injunction service can benefit other service providers as much as the people we help and, to that end, look forward to forming close working relationships with our partners in the field.
