Genesis Housing Association

Mission

To provide quality homes and services to enable our customers to build better futures.

Values

1. Customer focus - putting customers at the heart of everything we do, involving them and being accessible.

2. Respect - treating people as individuals: with integrity, respect and professionalism.

3. Partnership working - working in partnership to deliver for our customers and communities.

4. Efficiency - making efficient use of our resources and continuously improving the way we do things.

Housing

The housing team manages general needs housing ranging from bedsits to large family homes. The team is responsible for neighbourhood management and reducing antisocial behaviour. Over the next year they will be implementing a new customer service strategy and a resident services strategy. They will be working to establish different service offers for three resident segments

Supported Housing

Supported housing provides housing and support to our most vulnerable residents - older people and people with learning disabilities or mental health issues, enabling them to achieve maximum independence in their homes and daily lives. Over the next year they plan to develop and win new business, establish which personalised services can be offered and will work towards all the support schemes achieving Level B QAF rating.

Mental health support

Genesis supports people with mental health issues to retain their independence, hope and self esteem. We have embraced the personalisation agenda and promote individual choice and control in all of our services.

We have a range of mental health schemes and services in London, Hertfordshire and Essex. We offer varying levels of staff support depending on the needs of our customers. We support people with a wide range of mental health issues including dual diagnosis and drug and alcohol addiction. Most our accommodation is self contained flats with communal social areas including lounge, kitchen and gardens.

Our floating support services ensure that people with lower mental health needs are supported to live independently in their home, within their own community.

The support we offer includes:

  • medication management
  • training, education and employment opportunities
  • signposting to appropriate external agencies
  • completing forms
  • budgeting and managing debt
  • claiming benefits and grants
  • developing life skills
  • participation in community events.
